Aly Cissokho continues to be linked with a move to England with a number of clubs interested, says L’Equipe.
Both Newcastle and Arsenal have been strongly linked with the Lyon full-back for much of the transfer window, as Arsene Wenger looks to bring in reinforcements due to his current injury crisis.
It is thought that the Gunners boss would prefer a loan deal for the remainder of the season, with both left sided full-backs Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos out injured.
But Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas told L’Equipe: “The transfer of Cissokho? I’m in favour of it”
However, Aulas would prefer a permanent transfer rather than a loan move – which is what Arsenal are looking for.
The Newcastle interest is said to be cooling as the club are not prepared to meet the £8 million valuation of the player and are prepared to wait.
It is thought that Lyon are seeking to ship out some of their players, including Yoann Gourcuff – who has also been a long-term target for Arsenal.
But with Lyon notoriously difficult to negotiate with, expect this one to down to the last day of the window.
The full-back won the Portuguese league while at former club Porto, and has made 19 league appearance for Lyon this season.
