WHAT SCHOLES SAID
On Instagram, Scholes praised Mainoo and said: "Read a few comparisons between me and this kid last week…don't waste your time, he is 10 times the player I was at 19…just love the way he receives the ball, the calmness, the awareness of what's around him and of course big goals in big games…this boy is special…and he's a f*cking Red…laters"

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mainoo has been the breakout star for Manchester United in a rather dull season and has rightly earned praise from stars and fans alike. It was his goal against Manchester City that gave the side the two-goal cushion which saw the Red Devils secure a second trophy in two years under Erik ten Hag.

WHAT NEXT FOR MAINOO AND AMRABAT?
The Manchester United duo will likely have very differing futures ahead of them with Amrabat's stay at set to come to an end as the Red Devils are not expected to sign the midfielder permanently. Meanwhile, Mainoo is expected to go ahead and become a mainstay at Old Trafford.
