Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney has claimed that he has matured greatly over the past year or so both as a player and as a person, talkSPORT report.
A game away at West Ham in April 2010 was a turning point according to Rooney who was given a two game ban for swearing into a pitchside camera after celebrating a hat-trick that saw United claim a vital three points. That game saw the Jekyll and Hyde in Rooney and the 26-year-old believes that game was vital to him growing up.
“I honestly don’t think I would put myself in that situation again because it has cost me playing games.” Rooney told talkSPORT.
“I don’t really want to miss games. I feel I have matured as a player and a person.”
“You never say never, of course, because football is an emotional game, but I’d like to hope it won’t.”
